Wow Juliane. This writing is exceptional and the Huff post article has had me in tears. “I closeted myself looking for safety, but I almost suffocated instead.” I won’t go into details in the comment section but it’s only in finding stability in my current, long term heteronormative looking relationship that I was finally able to admit to myself and then in turn a select few others about who I really was. It’s been scary but hugely liberating.

I can’t believe for someone I’ve never met before exactly how much similarity there is between our lives. Which makes me think of all the other people who are out there that maybe have had similar experiences too but don’t have the identification or the words to express themselves - making what we share all the more important.

Yes! Don't you just looooove finding new amazing writers and then thinking ohmygawwwd how did I not know about this person??? Makes me hopeful for a life full of these discoveries.
